Haul Her Out Boys! from Debbie Via on Vimeo.
October 2012 Time to paint the bottom means heading down the bay to Cobb's Marina in Little Creek next to the Navy amphibious base. Pulling a boat this heavy out of the water is no easy task. We went down the day before and stayed on the travel lift dock. This video shows Valkyrie being hauled out of the water.

April 2012 Certain special moments in our lives happen so quickly they can only be memories. I never seem to have my camera ready to capture those wildlife encounters. On our way North from St. Augustine, Florida to Charleston, SC dolphin came to play in our bow wake for FIVE hours! We were 40 miles offshore right about the Georgia - South Carolina border. At first it was way too rough to go outside and take pictures, let alone video. I thought this was going to be another moment in my memory only. Then the wind and seas moved more to the stern, making for a much smoother ride. So we took advantage of this golden opportunity and ventured to the bow with the camera in tow. Hope you enjoy seeing a bit of what it is like aboard Valkyrie when the dolphin come to play!

October 2011 It is easy to see why Roux gets so excited when dolphins are around. Just say the word dolphin and she does a mad dash to the bow to look. She sticks her head out and hangs over the edge just to catch a glimpse of one. She has never barked at them, but she is just as fascinated as we are. Many times we see them off at a distance and only get to see the top fin making boat guests wonder if it was a shark or a dolphin. But every now and then we are blessed to have them come right up to the boat and ride in our bow wake. To them, it must be like a dog hanging out the car window. Connecting with nature like this makes us feel even more responsible for our actions on the water and to leave only footprints behind. This video was taken near Bogue Inlet.
